Fluker Crickets Star in Washington Post Reporter's Hilarious Real-life Tale

When Washington Post data reporter Christopher Ingraham's family got a bearded dragon lizard this past Christmas, it didn't take long to figure out what their new pet's favorite meal was. 

Live crickets! And lots of them.

With the nearest pet shop more than an hour away from their home in rural Minnesota, Ingraham realized the most efficient way to keep a constant supply would be to order them in bulk online.

Enter Fluker Farms.

We are honored Mr. Ingraham chose us for his first online cricket order; however it seems the rookie lizard owner got a little more than he bargained for when 250 live Fluker crickets arrived that cold December day.

His hilarious cautionary tale about what can happen when you hastily unpack a box of crickets without a plan has since gone viral. 

Crickets everywhere!

Evidently, I had not resealed the box as well as I should have. Later inspection also revealed that in my haste to ascertain the crickets' condition, I had opened the box from the wrong side, despite the presence of large arrows indicating the proper side with an all-caps warning that read, “SEE INSIDE FLAP FOR CARE INSTRUCTIONS!”
