Dubia Roaches (Blaptica dubia) NEW!

 a.k.a. Guyana Spotted cockroach or Orange-spotted cockroach

Dubia roaches, originating from Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay in South America, have an average adult size ranging from 4 to 4.5 cm (1.5 to 1.8 inches), with nymphs (Juvenile Dubia Roaches) measuring approximately ¼ inch. These roaches exhibit a lifespan of 1.5 to 2 years and demonstrate prolific reproductive capabilities, with females producing 20-40 nymphs monthly upon reaching sexual maturity.

Dubia roaches, commonly known as feeders or pets, exhibit different nutritional compositions between adults and nymphs.

Adult Metrics:  
Moisture 58-65%
Protein 50-56%
Fat 30-40%

Nymph Metrics:  
Moisture 58-60%
Protein 46-50%
Fat 43-46%
Ash 2.4-2.6%

Care for Dubia Roaches

The optimal storage solution is to place the Dubia roaches in a container with smooth sides to prevent their escape, while also providing internal structures for them to climb on, thus promoting their optimal development. It is best to store them at a temperature range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, which is equivalent to 77 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

Due to the longevity of these insects, owners need to ensure Dubia cages are cleaned 1-2x per week and provided with fresh dry and moist food. If food replacement is neglected it could lead to cannibalism or fungal growth, dependent on consumption. When hygiene is neglected for the roach and their cage pests can come in to live alongside the Dubia such as mites, flies, or unwanted beetles.

Dubia Roach Nutrition 

Gut Load the same as you would other feeder insects. Fluker’s recommends using our High Calcium Dubia Roach diet, providing feeding your roach 24 hours prior to then feeding your roach to your pet.

Feeding You Pets 

Dubia roaches are commonly used as feeders for a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids kept as pets. Some examples of animals that eat Dubia roaches include bearded dragons, leopard geckos, tarantulas, and certain species of frogs. They are valued for their nutritional content and ease of breeding, making them a popular choice among reptile enthusiasts.

When will my order ship?

We ship orders Monday-Friday depending on the items ordered and shipping method selected on checkout. We do not ship on Saturday or Sunday.

Which shipping method should I choose? We offer a wide variety of options for shipping your live insects. Using the chart above as reference, our customers can choose which shipping service will work best for them. It is important to take into account that transit times vary greatly between the different options. USPS First Class Mail can take up to 7 business days and Overnight is a one business day in transit service. What works well for some customers will not always work well for others. If it is during the hot summer months or cold winter months we recommend not using USPS Ground Advantage because it is the slowest option and increases the risk of receiving your insects DOA. Make sure to check the weather, carefully taking into account transit time and places that your package will travel through. Also important to consider is the price between the shipping methods: USPS Ground Advantage is the cheapest, Overnight is the most expensive with many options in between depending on the season. We try to provide as much information as possible but it is ultimately up to the customer to make the best choice based on weather and the quality of delivery services available to your area.

    I raise mantids and am trying to expand their diet. I bought small dubia roaches for the adults and they are a hit. Roaches arrived packaged well and all alive. Thank you and will purchase more in the future.
