Hurricane Ida Update - Farm will re-open Tuesday, Aug. 31

8/30/2021

We hope that you and your families are safe today. We know that some local areas have been impacted more than others, but it looks like the farm and immediate surrounding area were spared any extensive damage. Fortunately, power at the farm has been restored, and we will re-open tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31. Our team is committed to getting back to work as soon as possible to serve our customers, but your safety is our top priority. If you are unable to travel safely or are experiencing any other issues that may prevent you from returning to work tomorrow, please contact your manager.

Vaccinations and Quarantine Information

8/2/2021

The health and safety of the Fluker Farms team is our number one priority. We are currently monitoring CDC recommendations and guidance as closely as possible. As we become aware of changes we will begin implementing those recommendations. As of August 2, 2021, we have updated our Farm Covid Action Plan. Since we cannot bring our work home, it is essential we follow these protocols in order to keep our facility open.

Vaccinations:

  • Fluker's will grant one hour of PTO to employees to visit a local clinic for vaccination. If interested, please talk to your manager to coordinate.
  • Local vaccination clinic: Walgreens Co. #15366, 220 N Alexander Ave, Port Allen, LA 70767. If this option does not work for you, please visit www.vaccines.gov or call 1-800-232-0233.

CDC Quarantine Procedure:

  • Stay home for 14 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19.
  • Watch for fever (100.4◦F), cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.
  • If possible, stay away from people you live with, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.
  • After quarantine, watch for symptoms until 14 days from exposure. If you have symptoms, immediately self-isolate and contact your local public health authority or healthcare provider.
  • Follow the recommendations of your local public health department if you need to quarantine. Options they will consider include stopping quarantine after day 10 without testing or after day 7 after receiving a negative test result (test must occur on day 5 or later).
  • Visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html for more information.
