Fluker Farms - Live Crickets

Ordering Live Feeder Crickets in the winter.  Now that winter weather has begun, we recommend checking our shipping information page before ordering Live crickets or any other Live Insects. Cold temperatures can greatly impact the odds of receiving your crickets live and healthy. See our live delivery guarantee before placing your order.

Selective Breeding - Crickets (Acheta domestica) from multiple farms throughout the country were mixed and bred for over 60 generations into a special strain called the “American Mix”. This is why our Acheta domestica have less mortality upon delivery and survive longer after they arrive, up to 8 weeks with proper care and nutrition.  We recommend a temperature range of 70-75F during the day and at night to keep their metabolism and immune system functioning properly. These insects are a rich source of protein and when gut loaded properly offer many other nutritional benefits to reptiles. Buy your reptile the best feeder insects for sale online today.

Crickets are available in sizes ranging from 1 week old (3/16 of an inch) to 6 weeks old (1 inch) and in box counts starting at 100. We also offer a 250ct 4 week old crickets and 250ct medium mealworms mixed box. This is a great way to help diversify your reptiles live insect diet. When ordering the mix, both will be packaged loose together in the same box. Looking for just mealworms?

Below is a video from our very own Dave Fluker showing you how to create a set up to house all of your insects in. Check out our YouTube channel for more feeder insect and reptile related content!

Live Delivery Guarantee Winter

Fluker Farms guarantees live delivery when temperatures are as low as 16 degrees at the destination and/or regional sort facilities during estimated transit times. While most insect growers simply refuse to ship at temperatures below this threshold, Fluker Farms recognizes how much you rely on live insect for your pet’s nourishment and feel you should have a choice in the matter. Therefore, we provide the following options when the weather drops to 0-15 degrees (we will not ship to any areas below 0 degrees).

1) Ship Without Guarantee (SWG)-You can choose to have your insects shipped when the night time temperatures are between 0-15 degrees by selecting the SWG option, however, we cannot guarantee live delivery and NO REFUND will be given for insects that do not arrive alive.
2) Hold For Weather (HFW)-If you choose the HFW option, your order may be held up to 7 days while we wait on improved shipping conditions. If after 7 days the weather doesn’t improve enough for your order to be shipped, it will be cancelled and any charges refunded.
For your convenience we offer a variety of shipping methods from Fedex and the United States Postal Service. Please choose the method that is best suited for the conditions in your area. Keep in mind that although Fluker Farms will replace any insects that do not arrive alive (subject to the extreme weather policy outlined above), Fluker Farms DOES NOT guarantee any shipping charges. All shipping charges are final and non refundable. Please inspect your packages upon delivery and contact us immediately with any problems. All live insect claims must be made within 2 business days of delivery. To request a claim, please fill out our credit request form. All claims will be processed within 2 business days.
Go to Shipping Advisory to see if there are any weather advisories for your area. States listed in red currently have night-time temperatures of 15 degrees (F) or below: If you have any questions or concerns related to your state or our shipping policy please feel free to contact us or call (800) 735-8537.

Which shipping method should I choose? We offer a wide variety of options for shipping your live insects. Using the chart above as reference, our customers can choose which shipping service will work best for them. It is important to take into account that transit times vary greatly between the different options. USPS First Class Mail can take up to 7 business days and Fedex Overnight is a one business day in transit service. What works well for some customers will not always work well for others. If it is during the hot summer months or cold winter months we recommend not using USPS First Class Mail because it is the slowest option and increases the risk of receiving your insects DOA. Make sure to check the weather, carefully taking into account transit time and places that your package will travel through. Also important to consider is the price between the shipping methods: USPS First Class Mail is the cheapest, Fedex Priority Overnight is the most expensive with many options in between. We try to provide as much information as possible but it is ultimately up to the customer to make the best choice based on weather and the quality of delivery services available to your area.

Amazing job on shipping. Amazing on just holding onto my crickets and waiting to ship until my cold snap in my area went away. I did a few orders in -20 degree weather and they did not last but that definitely isn't their fault. Once it got warmer above 20 degrees my crickets I would get were very lively and healthy. I order 250 to 500 at a time and i have a beardie i feed them to. I basically am raising the crickets myself and yes they're very healthy.

Most of mine die before they get here.

Posted by Gerald smithwick on Mar 22nd 2019

Last package took 5 days. And almost half of the crickets were dead. Had another time i ordered 100 crickets. And got 100 full size superworms instead. ( Couldn't use them I have baby dragons). Had to run to store over a hour away to get them crickets so they could eat. Lady was nice though and sent me the right order. Now maybe I'm just having bad luck so I won't be too harsh on the rating. Not happy with the service tho at all. And don't think I'll be ordering anything else from here. Sorry. Maybe I'll try again one day. I feel like I overrated y'all. Seriously, seeing how I've only ordered a few times. And got a wrong order, and takes a week to get here leaving me mostly dead crickets. It has left bad impression on me. Like I said I wasn't so harsh on the rating because I'm sure y'all aren't that bad. But taking 5 days to get a package seems excessive. Umm when I mail someone something it takes 2-3 days. Below average. But I hooked you up with 3 star.

Crickets were very small, I paid extra for 6 week crickets. They are very small and most were dead. These crickets make the little ones at Petsmart look like giants. Total waste of money.

    Dead crickets

When my son just opened our order of crickets there were over half that were dead in the box. Not really sure what to expect. This was my first time ordering live crickets online.

    Way cheaper then PetSmart

    Posted by W J on Jan 23rd 2019

I saw some reviews that said half their crickets arrived dead or all of them were dead but I ordered 1000 crickets in the middle of winter and it took about 3 days to get here and it looked like 90% were still alive. I honestly wouldn’t of cared if half of them were dead because I’m saving a lot vs going to a pet store.

Our purchase was 3 days late, nothing to do with Flurer’s Farm, postal service. We received them the day after Veterans Day. When we opened them up there were very few deceased ones. Our boy and his anoles are enjoying them. Thanks !!

    It Wasn’t Pretty

Posted by Elizabeth Schroeder on Oct 17th 2018

I ordered 100 3/4” crickets and they arrived in a timely manner. I opened the canister and dumped them into my cricket keeper to find that approx. half were dead. Now that the crickets are in my cricket keeper I can’t just dig around trying to separate live from dead, it was chaos! No big deal I thought, my gecko is gonna eat these fast anyway. Welp, she did eat them fast but still not fast enough. The cricket corpses created a post apocalyptic environment and bred worms and flying bugs. It was a nightmare and a nightmare I won’t be repeating.
