SELECTIVE BREEDING
Crickets (Acheta domesticus) from multiple farms throughout the country were mixed and bred for over 60 generations into a special strain called the “American Mix”. This is why our Acheta domestica have less mortality upon delivery and survive longer after they arrive, up to 8 weeks total lifespan with proper care and nutrition. We recommend a temperature range of 70-75F during the day and at night to keep their metabolism and immune system functioning properly. Feeder Crickets are available in sizes ranging from 1 week old baby crickets (3/16 of an inch) to 6 weeks old adults (1 inch) and in quantities starting at 100. Packaging was terrible. Great quality live crickets but packaged in a box that just had all the crickets running around. I pulled the tape and crickets began escaping everywhere and it took an hour to track them down and get them in the container. I still have crickets in my house.
The crickets arrive fast and mostly all alive, which is great! The containers they come in are easy to open without many escaping. They are healthy and active. The issue I have is trying to get the right size. If you go by the size chart, 3 week old crickets should be 3/8”. The ones i received were 1/2” to 3/4”. I tried again with 2 week old crickets, which arrived in just a couple of days.. 2 week old are supposed to be 1/4”, according to the size chart, but they were slightly bigger than 3/8”. The customer service was great in sending me that second batch free of charge, but they were just still too big. The first time I ordered 1 week old crickets, which were supposed to be 3/16”, and they were actually too small, measuring closer to 1/16”. I understand that this is not a perfect science, but when you are feeding baby froglets, you need a specific size to keep them well fed and safe. I have given up and am now cutting up live crickets, like a savage, tweezer feeding them.
Ordered 1000 crickets. They came 3 days earlier than what usps said all of them were alive a little smaller than what I thought they were going to be but overall I'm very satisfied and will be ordering my crickets from them from now on
This was my first online order of live crickets, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I ordered at about 10-11pm on a Thursday and received the bugs by 11am on the following Monday! All 200 crickets arrived alive and ready to run around the tank. Better crickets and better results than buying from a normal pet store. I am fully planning to order crickets from Flucker’s again once my stock has been cleaned. Thank you very much!
I have ordered crickets from quite a few different companies and so far flukes has been the best. My crickets are always alive and healthy upon delivery and they last weeks without dying on me .
Disappointed is an understatement. Order 500 medium crickets and more than 95% were dead! Never again
Ordered 500 large crickets. Half arrived dead and within 24 hours only about 100 left alive. Also, very smelly compared to other crickets and the packaging was filled with small flying bugs.
Ordered 250 for my chickens as a treat and I’m only upset I didn’t order more! Bought them on a Friday and they were here Tuesday all alive. The girls gobbled them up in about 2 minutes! Going to order more again soon!
I ordered 2,000 crickets, size 3/16 inch. I received "1 week" crickets that were barely larger than pinheads and were far too small to be useful. I tried to grow them out to the appropriate size, but due to the dry climate here and my inexperience at raising tiny crickets, most have died.I am not as impressed with Flukers as I would like to be.
