Q: How to tell the gender of a hissing cockroach?
A: Hissing cockroaches have very small, but distinct differences in gender.Males have large horns on the front part of their bodies, directly behind their head. They also have hairy antennae.Females are smoother in appearance, possessing only small bumps. They have smooth antennae.Both genders hiss.A cockroach must be at least 3/4" long before gender identification is possible.
Q: What are the different sizes of your Hissers?
A: Hissing cockroaches are available for sale as juveniles and adults. Juveniles are approximately between 1/2" - 7/8", adults are approximately 1" - 2".
Q: Do you allow ordering of a specific sex of cockroach?
A: Currently we do not offer the option to choose the specific sex when ordering hissing cockroaches.
Ordered these right before weather became unexpectedly cold, but the hissers still arrived healthy and active. There was a nice mix of male and female insects, as well as a handful of nymphs. I've already put in an order for more to get a colony going, very happy with this purchase!
100% happy with my order. First box was supposed to arrive 3-5 days give or take, but it got held up in the mail somewhere ended up being close to two weeks, so they sent a replacement box just in case! I ordered large thinking it would be that 'generic large' that you see in pet stores, you know the ones that say large but are only a half-inch, but I got full-blown adults! And a healthy mix of males and females at that. Arrived healthy and alive :) and you honestly can't beat the price

Not only that, the shipping was supposed to take 3-5 days I believe, and I think the first box got lost for a good 1.5-2 weeks, they insisted on sending a replacement :) (USPS doing not theirs, probably a mix between covid and Christmas made the delay)
